Why do you run?
"Not being able to run felt like being trapped in prison"
Eunice shares how she had to pause running during COVID and after having her baby, describing the feeling as if her body was trapped—like being in prison. She explains that in Kenya, many people struggle with depression, and for her, the way out was waking up early, heading into the forest, and breathing in the fresh air during a run. Today, she runs not just as a career but as her source of joy and freedom, believing that nature and running can heal both the body and mind.

"I KNOW I HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BREAK A WORLD RECORD”
Eunice dreams of breaking a world record and is confident she has what it takes. To get there, she remains committed to intense training, proper nutrition, and rest. She runs 150-200 km per week, training 2-3 times a day, but emphasizes that recovery is just as crucial as the workouts themselves. Rest allows the body to absorb the training and maximize performance gains.
For nutrition, she says the secret to her performance is eating Kenyan dishes like Ugali and Chapati. These foods stay in the body longer and provide the sustained energy needed for long runs. She also makes sure to have an apple a day and fuels up with strong Kenyan tea—loaded with caffeine and sugar—for an extra energy boost. For supplements, she recommends VO2 Max and Cramp Block from USN.
