Why do you run?

"Discipline is what drives me, and I take pride in that."

Ikegami shares that discipline is what drives him, believing that mental strength is the key to success. He admits that motivation isn’t always there, but once he commits to something, he follows through—no excuses. For him, running is more than just training; it’s a testament to resilience and dedication.

"I DREAM OF RUNNING A 2:06 MARATHON, NOT JUST FOR THE TIME ITSELF, BUT FOR THE SENSE OF GREATNESS AND JOY THAT RUNNING BRINGS ME”

Ikegami explains that his goal isn’t just about the time—it’s about the sense of greatness and joy that running brings him. Since he usually trains alone, running is a personal journey—a chance to focus, reflect, and push his limits without distractions.
